Technologies:
1. Coax Networks. Transmitting area - 50 Ohms Coaxial cable with T-View splitters and BNC connectors. Most old technology, in nowadays time don't realize for the new objects, although you can find it in real life. Constrains - Transmitting speed 10 Mbits/sek, length of uninterrupted segment - not more than 250 meters. Separate technology achievements of this networks are useful for modern networks - echo signals depressing in DSL networks, collision depressing in the WiFi Wireless Networks.
2. Cable Networks. Transmitting area - UTP cable (Universal Twisted Pare). UTP cable consists from 4 twisted pairs (8 wires) in one plastic cover. Most spread, simplest, inexpensive and standard decision with speeds 10, 100 Mbits/sek and 1 Gbit/sek. Based on star topology (as a part point to point connection, required special connection cable - Crossover). Center of star usually HUB or Router - repeater or Packet commutation. Possible connections between HUBs and Routers for network extension or connection between separated segments. On physical level most complicated part is connectors RG-45 installing, testing and marking of cables. For networks of big volume necessary installation of cable channels. Most difficult part is constrain in length of one interrupted cable by 60 meters, what is a maim obstacle in a case of enterprise cower. Most suitable decision for offices, floored buildings. On the logic level important to provide not double IP address, domain, subnet. for each point. Domain network provide possibility for Remote administration.
3. DSL networks. There are asymmetrical ADSL and symmetrical HDSL variants for this technology. Transmitting area - separated twisted pair.. This technologies is an extension of modems networks. They use methods of coding and compressing of information developed for modems shifted to ultra sound band. The frequency shift provided following extra abilities: - parallel independent of phone set and ADSL modem through a solid twisted pair; - more speed because of using more that one carrier on higher frequency. Technically ADSL provide Up speed 1 Mbit/sek and Down speed 8 Mbit/sek. Taking in mind that speed of full range video stream is 2.5 Mbit/sek, we got the main application area for ADSL - hotels. In this environment the one twisted pair provided 3 services per each room: 1. phone access, 2.Internet/Intranet access, 3. digital TV on Pay per View basis. DSL technology low applicable in sequrity video field where necessary to transmit full range 2.5 Mbit from every IP point in a real time. This technology also have constrain by distance 1.5 km of twisted pair, quality of twisted is also critical. Known also variations of this technology where transmitting environment is power wires. Speed in this case is 8 Mbit/sek and 40 Mbit/sek, distance up to 300 m.
4. WiFi wireless technology. Most modern technology utilize radio channel for data transmitting. Have constrains for distance and speed, but allow to achieve full freedom for user (fully absence of any wire) in a range of office. Technical equipments for this technology is expensive and in shortage. Also known variants utilized special antennas for transmitting a stream 10 Mbit/sek for a distance 6 km. Utilizing of this technology required license of Uzbek Agency of Communication and Information (UzACI) for utilizing the frequency range.
5. Optical Networks. Allow to transmit streams up to 1 Gbit (constrained only modern transmitter/receiver speed, but not the cable ) by one- multy mode optical cable up to 10 kilometers without repeaters. Technical stuff for this decision is available and not expensive. Constraint is requirements to Optical cable connections what require expensive precise tools. This technology is most suitable for modern IP sequrity video systems, long range networks (enterprise level). There are also variants with transmitting of signals by air (infrared, laser beam) for short distances..
6. Satellite Networks. The only technology where stream speed measured in Bytes/sek, not in Bits/sek. It means that 64K satellite channel in 8..10 times faster than ADSL 64K connection with 2..3 times less price. Technical stuff for receiving of signal is not expensive and allow effectively organize so called asymmetrical channel up to ADSL or Dial-Up requests ground channel. In this case slow ground channel utilize for requests transmitting, speed satellite - for receiving. Technical staff for transmitting to satellite 10-12 times more expensive, it provides so called symmetric channel from any point around the world effectively. Unlimited access and especially ability to transmit video stream up to satellite not allowed by all governments. Transmitting equipments produce directed UHF radio beam with power 2.5-4Vt on 12 Ggz and possible dangerous for human health in a case of improperly installation. Real speed up to 8 MBytes/sek = 64 Mbit/sek is most speedy connection to Internet available for public. For symmetric channel necessary to get license of UzACI.
